So sorry for the lack of posts lately, but if you have been keeping up with my Unexpected Journey series, you’ll know I’ve been taking it very easy post-surgery. This means that I couldn’t take pictures! But we are back now, and that’s what matters 🙂 Today I’m taking you through a quick update on my month after surgery, and my hopes for the future!
As you might remember from this post, the two weeks after surgery for me was pretty rough. I was super tired, dizzy and nauseous for a long time, which stunk. After those two weeks I perked back up and came around the corner! From then on until now, I’ve been doing tons of reading and back to school organizing (keep your eyes peeled for incoming posts on both topics!). Two weeks after surgery, I also got my stitches taken out, and got to have a better look at the incision. It’s super small and should heal really well!
Last week I had my first physical therapy appointment, which I’m so excited about! I can’t tell you how good it feels to be doing something. After surgery, I was really just waiting to start moving my foot, and now I can do that! I love being as proactive as possible, so I’m really happy to have started therapy not only on my foot, but for the rest of my body so that I can start getting back in shape.
So I’ve been using my crutches and boot to get around, and I’ve been putting some of my weight into the crutches, but a good amount into my bad foot too. I can’t put into words how great it feels to finally put a little weight on my left foot! I haven’t done that in over three months! My pain levels have dropped tremendously, and I’m feeling back to normal, despite the fact that I can’t walk 🙂 The past couple days have consisted of trying to cram every bit of summer in while I can, and getting ready for school starting this week!
Blogging During the School Year
Call me a weirdo, but I love school. I love getting new school supplies, and getting organized for the new school year. I love learning new things and striving to do my best. This means I spend all my free time doing homework or studying (when I’m not at dance). I’ve resolved to fit blogging into my schedule though, and I am aiming for two posts per week! I have super fun things planned, but I’d love to hear from you!
