Christmas was truly made magical when I got… a puppy! It’s not a surprise for you, as I put it in the title of this post, but boy, I was surprised! I’m a huge lover of puppies and dogs, and this literally made my Christmas! I’ve been asking for a puppy jokingly for months, but I never actually thought we would get one! We have a girl dog named Lily, who is a small labradoodle, but I’ve always hoped she could have a little brother. Here’s the story of how she became a big sister!
In our family, we all wake up and open stockings together, and then proceed to the living room where we all open our gifts. So as usual, we all open our stockings together. Before we can all go to the living room though, my mom asks us to stay where we are so she can “set something up”. This seems like it would be obvious what was going on, but it was not at all. So we walk into the living room and see a large, decorative box in the middle of the floor. We take the top off, and up pops a puppy head! I immediately burst into tears of joy, I was so excited! I still can’t believe we have A PUPPY! My Christmas dreams came true, wrapped up in a little ball of fluff and energy.
Originally we were thinking he was an Oliver, but then we realized that Ollie and Lily sound too similar, so it just wouldn’t work. Next we settled on Winston, which I think fits him perfectly! I love how English it sounds, and I also think it’s just a super cute name for a little fluffball.
And so we have—Winston, a crazy little goldendoodle that loves to annoy his big sister. The little fella is such a sweetie, but he’s plenty mischievous too! He hops and bounds all around the house, and is getting pretty good at tripping his way up and down the stairs, which is adorable to watch. He is such a winter baby, and LOVES the snow! It’s been in the negatives lately, and when I take him out he will just lay and roll in the snow for as long as I can take the cold. Lily is the total opposite, she runs out and back in as fast as her little legs can take her. He is such a little piggy, and gobbles down his food as quickly as he can, before trying to sneak over and eat Lily’s food.
It makes me so sad that he’s growing so fast, he’s gained six pounds since Christmas! I don’t want my baby to grow up. He’s such a crazy nut, but snuggles so sweetly when he gets a little tired, which is absolute heaven for me. I can’t get enough of his snuggles!
Hopefully that’s enough of an introduction for all of you that voted on Instagram to meet him! Maybe I’ll do an update on him when he grows a little, he’s supposed to be about sixty pounds!
