It’s crazy to think that there are only a few more Fridays before I start school. I’m excited though! Anyways, today’s Friday Five is focusing on what I’ve been using in the past week since I got my foot surgery. You can read more about my injury here and my surgery here, if you’re interested. We all know that surgery is pretty intense, and recovery even more so, so these are my must-haves for recovery!
2. Watermelon So as I’ve mentioned before, I’m a huge sucker for fresh fruit, especially watermelon! I’ve been nauseous because of the meds I’m on, but I need to eat for them to work effectively. Watermelon has been a lifesaver! It’s super tasty and light, so it doesn’t make me super nauseous. It’s also super hydrating which is also helpful when you are taking lots of medicine!
3. Skincare Products Ok, this one sounds superficial and unrelated, but it can have a huge impact! Being in bed all day makes you feel super gross and groggy, but taking care of your body really helps, in my opinion. I’ve been loving using these face wipes and Pinita Colada Body Butter from The Body Shop to pamper myself a little. It really makes me feel better about myself! Pacifica is probably my favorite skincare brand, and their face wipes are incredible, although pretty expensive. The body butter smells amazing—it was a gift from my best friend’s family—everyone knows I love pineapple!
4. Flowers I’ve mentioned this before, flowers can seriously make your day! They make a room so happy—a must when you are stuck in bed.
5. Entertainment As you can imagine, resting with an elevated foot gets old pretty fast. Definitely take time to stock up on some good books, music or Netflix shows to keep yourself busy! I’ve also really been enjoying reading other blogs like Elizabeth’s, Sally’s, Julia’s and Lauren’s.
Have an awesome weekend!
